NEW IRISH IMMIGRANTS

For centuries the Irish have been emigrating to distant lands taking with then their culture. Now a reverse is happening on our Island. People from different lands are immigrating to Ireland and they bring with them their rich culture. The Carswell Trust wishes to engage with the new migrant communities, especially  exploring their ethnic art, music and folklore.

In the Newry Market Quarter a small exciting arts space has opened where the first Irish/African arts and crafts initiatives is to be found.
